THE CAPTURED BIRD FILM

It’s not every day you get to share with the world that you’re working on a horror film executively produced by Guillermo Del Toro and directed by award winning, writer, artist and filmmaker Jovanka Vuckovic... today is such a day!

The Captured Bird is a short film written and directed by Jovanka and produced by Jason Lapeyre, with Guillermo del Toro as executive producer. Jovanka’s reputation in the horror world and her former position as editor-in-chief of Rue Morgue Magazine has attracted a whole crew of world class international horror filmmakers to the project of which Flipbook are proud to be a part of.

The film,in Jovanka's own words, is partly inspired by a childhood nightmare, the writings of H.P. Lovecraft, the fables of the Brothers Grimm and Hans Christian Anderson as well as the paranormal phenomenon known as The Shadow people. As well as being beautifully shot, the film is heavy on the visual effects with supernatural beings, tentacles and walls that bleed all featuring.

We are of course very excited and delighted to announce that we’re working on a number of VFX and CGI shots for the film. We can’t tell you too much about what we’re doing at present but the film is not far from completion and will be released in the very near future.
