We were thrilled when McCann UK asked us to produce the digital content for Aldi’s 2016 Christmas Campaign.
We provided animation for a series of shorts, including two casting sessions for the role of “Kevin the Carrot,” as well as a tongue-in-cheek short that pokes fun at the launch of John Lewis’ Christmas Advert.
Traditionally, the John Lewis Christmas Advert kicks off the holiday season. In the creative 30-second clip, Kevin the Carrot, unable to contain his excitement at the start of the department store’s festive advert, hyperventilates into a paper bag to save from passing out.
We further produced two follow-up shorts for the project, both casting sessions for the acclaimed role of “Kevin the Carrot.” The clips featured Gillian, the French ‘legume,’ the parsnip star of Kung Fu Carrot 3 (never mind he played the part of a potato), as well as a prestigious RADA trained carrot.
Our founder, Andrew Lord, said, “It has been an honour to produce content for such a fabulous and iconic brand and continue our great working relationship with McCann UK.”
We were in charge of all animation direction for the digital campaign. We were also responsible for the design, animation, and direction, as well as modelling for the casting characters.
