“Flipbook Studio… a powerhouse of games trailer and cutscene production”
It’s always nice to get a bit of press coverage and so we were obviously very pleased when Develop knocked on, asking for a studio interview.
As well as all the VFX and animation work we do for TV, Film and Brands we produce a lot of cinematic trailers, cutscenes, concept artwork, print imagery, brand design and other promotional material for the video games industry.

It’s turning out to be quite a year for the Flipbook team with a number of new key hires, winning best animation and graphics company at the Prolific North Awards, as well as being nominated for a Develop award. We’re now absolutely thrilled to have won the award for best use of animation at the UK’s longest running digital industry awards, the Big Chip Awards. The award was given for an immersive 4D, VR experience we were commissioned to produce by Savvy marketing.
Working closely with Savvy Marketing we created an immersive, stereoscopic 3D, animated, Virtual Reality experience for Reebok, to promote the launch of their new NHL All-Star jersey. Coupled with a wearable SubPac tactile bass system (which converted the audio into movement) the VR application allowed fans to experience the impact of those ice hockey body checks and duck out of the way off flying pucks; as part of the All Star team.
We also produced the introductory film for the night; an animation we devised, scripted, concepted and produced in house. You can watch the animation below by clicking on ‘Read More’
We’ll be returning to LA next week for another E3, where we’ll be looking forward to catching up with existing clients and forging some new relationships. If you’re heading out and would like to find out more about the visual content we create to promote games and to aid with development, then we’d love to see you out there!
Drop our MD an email (email@example.com) if you’ve got some time and we’ll see you out there!

We’re not normally one’s to blow our own trumpets but we can’t help it after once again winning the award for Best Animation & Graphics company at the 2016 Prolific North Awards. This is the second time we’ve won the accolade after our success in 2014 and the whole team couldn’t be more delighted.
We were once again up against some seriously talented competition but with the judges praising our growth, expanding international client base, our innovative portfolio of work and our high calibre client base, all the team’s hard work over the past year was rewarded.
We’re ecstatic to have won again, thanks very much!

We’ve produced a whole host of CG animated sequences, overlay text and motion graphics for this new 4 x 60 series for Discovery UK.
Idris Elba: No Limits, sees the Luther star consummating his love of speed in all sorts of high-octane, high-spec vehicles as he breaks records and performs insane stunts. We were delighted to once again work with Shine North on this series, creating a variety of realistic CGI shots that explained the science behind the machines and the challenges Idris was attempting to overcome.

At last years Prolific North Awards we were delighted to have won the award for best Animation/Graphics company in the face of some stiff competition. This year we’re ecstatic to announce that we’ve been nominated in the same category again, as well as being nominated for the video of the year award for the Assembly trailer that was released last year at E3 in Los Angeles.

Manchester seemed a long long way away whilst walking around San Francisco in the blazing sunshine at GDC 2015. The show didn’t disappoint this year with some great panel discussions and a considerable amount of attention devoted to Virtual Reality, which we were pleased to see following the release of our announcement trailer for nDream’s VR title, The Assembly, at E3 last year. Valve’s HTC headset was also revealed at the show and can now be added to the mix.

It’s been a year since we released our short animated horror film Bogeyman on Halloween. How fitting it was then for the film to take double gold at the Fresh Creative Awards 2014, at the Manchester Hilton on Halloween. It was a lovely first birthday present for the film and we were delighted that it won in the ‘Best Online Film’ and ‘Best Animation’ categories on the night.
