Press: Flipbook Studio Produces Harrison Spinks’ First TV Commercial in Company’s 178 Years

The 30-second ad which aired on Boxing Day, follows ‘Harrison’ the sheep travelling through Yorkshire, imitating the unique journey of a Harrison Spinks mattress; beginning in Harrison Spinks’ own 300-acre farm to their Leeds factory.

Flipbook’s multi-disciplinary capabilities and their expertise in creating life-like computer generated creatures and characters allowed them to produce the entire TV advert, including ‘Harrison’ the CG animated sheep and accompanying lamb, as well as all the grade and edit in their post-production suites. Extensive R&D went into the design and movement of the sheep and its fleece, in order to replicate the distinctively tufty and curly coat of a rare breed Wensleydale sheep, just like the ones found on the Harrison Spinks farm.

Andrew Brown, Executive Creative Director at Brass said: “This whole project was about finding the most talented and passionate people who were excited by an opportunity to push the boundaries. Getting the sheep right was vitally important not just for the feel and believability of the ad, but also for what should become an iconic part of the Harrison Spinks brand. The production partnership with Flipbook was ideal. Not only would they not rest until things were perfect, they were also a great bunch of people to work with.

Further celebrating Harrison Spinks’ Yorkshire heritage, the soundtrack was written by The Firm and performed by Leeds based band, ‘Hyde Park Brass’, while the voice over was performed by Leeds born actor Matthew Lewis, who is best known for his role as Neville Longbottom in the Harry Potter films.
