The familiar squirt characters return in the latest TV campaign for Carex Protect +. We were briefed by TBWAManchester to re-create the popular characters whose physical composition mirrors that of the Carex hand-wash they promote. After modelling the squirts, the Flipbook team went about texturing and animating the characters, before compositing and lighting the characters into the live scene. Our biggest obstacle was making sure the squirts appeared gel like and realistic whilst sitting perfectly in the live action. This involved capturing the HDRI lighting environment as well as using a variety of skin effects to create the glutinous veneer of the characters. The TV commercial is currently being shown at prime time on key terrestrial and satellite / freeview channels
